Para Biathlon, divided into sitting, standing, and visually impaired categories, is a winter sport that combines cross country skiing and rifle shooting. Biathlon was introduced in Innsbruck for athletes with a physical impairment. Later, athletes with a vision impairment also became eligible to compete. In the Lillehammer 1994 Paralympic Winter Games, biathlon was introduced as a medal event for men and women.
殘奧會冬季兩項是一項結合了射擊和越野滑雪的冬季體育項目，分為站姿、坐姿和視力障礙三個組別。在因斯布魯克冬季殘奧會上，肢體殘疾的運動員首次參加了冬季兩項比賽。之后，視力障礙運動員也獲得了參加比賽的資格。在1994年的利勒哈默爾冬殘奧會上，冬季兩項成為男子、女子獎牌比賽項目。
Para biathlon follows the modified rules of the International Biathlon Union (IBU) and its events consist of a 2.0 or 2.5 km cross-country skiing course and skiing three or five times in the free technique for the total race distance between 6-15 km.
殘奧會冬季兩項遵循國際冬季兩項聯合會修改后的規則，比賽總距離在6—15km之間，運動員沿著每圈2.0—2.5km的雪道，采用自由式技術滑行3圈或5圈。
Para athletes must shoot and hit the targets located at a distance of 10m. Each miss is penalized by an increase in the overall route time. The most important success factor lies in the capability of alternating the skills of physical endurance and shooting accuracy during the competition. Athletes with visual impairment are assisted by acoustic signals, which, depending on signal intensity, indicate when the athlete is on target.
運動員必須擊中10m遠的射擊靶，脫靶將被加罰比賽時間。比賽取得成功的關鍵在于運動員是否能夠較好協調身體耐力和射擊精準度。視力障礙的運動員以聲音信號為輔助手段，依靠信號強度，確定射擊時間。
The rifle shall be any type of air rifle of conventional appearance with a five shot clip. For Blind class, the rifle will be equipped with an electro-acoustic system. Blind athletes are shooting with an electronic rifle that allows aiming by hearing.
殘奧冬季兩項使用常規氣槍，彈夾為5發。視力障礙的運動員使用有聲音瞄準系統的氣槍，通過收聽提示音射擊。
